Co-founder of consulting engineering firm engaged in analytical and design support in the general field of structural engineering. Key projects include development and evaluation of a full-scale offshore platform strengthening scheme. This project included time-history nonlinear transient dynamic analysis, as well as push-over and response spectrum analyses. Other projects include the strength and fatigue evaluation of a 140' tall wind tower, nonlinear finite element analysis of 21' diameter buried pipeline, and structural evaluation of tapered roller bearings for use in the space station. Mr. Thomas has performed an evaluation of pressure housings subjected to dynamic and thermal shock loading, dynamic impact analyses of marine cable systems developed to protect marine harbors from terrorist attack, and structural evaluation of tension leg platform (TLP) mechanical components.
